Axe Cliff seniors held their November stableford on a bright and breezy Friday morning, writes Janet Dack.

Thirty-two seniors took part and such was the closeness of the contest that the final placings were not decided until the last group came in.

This resulted in two players leading on 36 points.

Countback was called into play and Rob Grove (15) edged out Malcolm Glass (19) for top spot.

Two others scored 35 points, John Mant (19) taking third on countback with Terry Jessup (20) the player to miss out on the prizes.

There were three twos scored by John Mant, Roger Wright and John Pugh.
