Monday saw a large field of seniors turn up for the monthly Stableford with blustery conditions not halting Ray Farrel, who amassed 40 points, and subsequently had his handicap cut from 18 to 16 while winning division one. Second was R Thompson, shooting his handicap with 36 points and finishing off the top three in division one was P Hardisty with 35.Division 2 winner P Williams managed to beat his handicap by five, with 41 points, leading from the American Bryant Bellers who scored 39 points. Third placed J Toates scored 39 but lost out on count back.Well done to all the guys who played and got their handicaps reduced.Thursday saw invited ladies from all over the county to play in the annual Ladies Open. The weather reduced the field but some great golf was still played. The winning ladies team came from East Devon with a fantastic score of 85 points. East Devon ladies also occupied third place with 83 points - well done to everyone who played and helped out on the day.The men's competition was played in less than desirable conditions with high wind and heavy rain and a small field of 43 players braved the conditions. Division 1 was won by Steve Gillian with 37 points. Second on count-back was K Borgeat and 36 points saw J Allen finishing third.Division 2 was won by M Colley, his 38 points seeing his handicap reduced from 17 to 16. A Wells scored 37 to come second and third was club electrician L Bounds with 35.
