Hannah takes Top Girl trophy
Chard Swimming Club were in action at the weekend again, with swimmers competing at the SW Regional short course Championships at Millfield, and also the West Dorset Christmas Meet at Bridport.
Forty-three swimmers aged between 9-16 took part in events at the West Dorset Meet, which itself was a test of endurance with events spread over three sessions and not finishing until 9.30pm! Chard swimmers turned in some great performances, gaining 49 top- three medal positions; 15 golds, 12 silvers and 27 bronze.
Hannah Pullinger, 15, was awarded the Top Girl at the meet, winning six gold medals and a silver, and achieving five South West Regional Qualifying times. Meanwhile, at Millfield, Jake Hallam (15) achieved six SW qualifying times and three top-eight positions, Abi Dare (14) achieved four , Ben Fowler (15) achieved three, Tessa Down (14) achieved two, and Lauren Harrison (14) one.
At West Dorset golds went to: Hannah Pullinger 50 and 100 freestyle, 50 and 100 breaststroke, 100 I/M, 50 backstroke, Melissa Hanson, 14, 100m freestyle and freestyle, Joe Spurway, 14, 100 freestyle, Jamie Pullinger, 13, 100 backstroke, Oliver Bilbie, 13, 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle, Tamsin Edge, 11, 50 breaststroke, Megan Herbert, 9, 50 breaststroke, Xanthe Dyer, 9, 50 butterfly.
Silvers were awarded to: Jamie Pullinger: 50 breaststroke and 100 freestyle; Tamsin Edge: 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke; Abi Bonning, 11, 100 I/M and 50 freestyle; Hannah Pullinger: 100 backstroke; Joe Spurway: 50 freestyle; Oliver Bilbie: 100 Individual Medley; Ryan Adair, 11, 100 butterfly; Jay Kindred, 14, 100 breaststroke; Leo Kindred , 10, 100 breaststroke,

?Meanwhile Club Swimmers of the Month for November were Susan Ross, 12, who gained her very first Regional Qualifying time in the 100 backstroke, and Oliver Bright, 9, who gained the most progress points during the month in competitions and time-trials.
