Several Honiton Running Club members braved a cold chilling wind to take part in the well-organised Fulfords Five Race in Exmouth last Sunday, writes Judy Davey.

The race starts and finishes in the square with two laps going out along the seafront before a slight climb and then turning runners back in towards the town centre.

The race was won by Shaun Bantell of Bideford Running Club in a time of 24 minutes, 48 seconds.

First back for Honiton was Carl Harrison in 68th in 34.30. He was followed by: Emilie Tones in 80th in 35.42; Darren Robert in 114th in 38.26; Tony Peek in 153rd in 40.40; Olivia Higginson in 199th in 43.47; Anna Dalzell in 204th in 44.15; Vanessa Knowles in 217 in 44.59; and Debbie Vinnicombe in 232 in 46.43.

There were 326 finishers. This was an almost flat five-mile race with only 217ft of elevation gain.
