Archant

Holyrood Academy year nine boys lifted their area football title when they overpowered Ansford 10-1 in the final.

Seven goals in the first half, four of them from Brad Putt, meant the contest was all over by the midway mark!

After the break the Holyrood team defended well to deny the opposition any more than a single consolation while they added three more of their own to become the second Holyrood Academy football team to win a district title in as many days!

Mr Reid, PE teacher and coach at Holyrood Academy, said: “What a great week for boys’ football! The boys were outstanding. Well done, lads!”
