For the third week running Honiton 2nd XV chalked up a half century of points as they won handsomely at Tavistock 2nds.
With more confident play the Lacemen were 29-7 up at half-time and enjoying near total dominance.
After the break the try count rose considerably as the home team wilted. The scoring honours went to Trenchard with a try hat-trick. Ben Kidson, now back from his travels, returned to the ranks with a solid shift as the stand-in number. His half-back partner, Angus Meadows, ran his forwards well and also got a brace of tries. Jo Keep reacted quickly to bag his try and Chris Lynch scored as well. Once again the veteran of the side, Dave Welly, crossed the whitewash with a skilful effort.
This was a terrific team performance from the Lacemen. Newcomer George Spence worked well up front, but the Man of the Match award was deservedly won by Steve Trenchard who had another fine game.
This Saturday (April 16), the 2nd XV entertain Sidmouth, a contest that should present a much stiffer test for the Lacemen and indeed, ought to be a good marker as to the progress this team is making.
