Honiton B make Mason trophy progress with win over Caradon

The Honiton ladies had a busy past week, playing in two national competitions and also a county trophy fixture, writes Joan Mackintosh.
There was a Lane Trophy meeting with Isca that Honiton lost 80-52 with the successful Honiton rink the one of C Barradell, V Kille and P Whitworth (17-16)
Two teams from Honiton entered the Mason Trophy which is a national competition and Honiton A lost overall to Bodmin, going down 43-26 with the top Honiton rink the one of J Granger, D Hawkins M Bright and H Chambers, who won 20-19.
Honiton B were 37-22 winners of their match against Caradon and will now play Isca A in the next round, The top Honiton rink in the meeting with Cardon was the one of A Brown, R Barwick, M Vessey and J Grant, who won 26-7.
The Yetton trophy is also a national competition and Honiton played South Hams, winning 81-73 with the top rink the one of C Barradell, D Hawkins, A Hillyear and H Chambers, (23-10)

In a men’s Over-60s fixture, Honiton lost 86-76 to Isca with the top rink the one of K Clarke, T Tooley, M Dart and T House, (20-17)
There was also a mixed friendly played last week with Nomads the opposition. Honiton won 94-44 with the top rink being the one of J Granger, R Richards, J Smith, G Osborne, (34-7).
