Honiton bowlers had mixed fortunes in East of Exe League matches last week, writes Julie Grant.

A meeting with Culm Vale saw them lose 80 shots to 39, but they did manage a draw on one rink thanks to the efforts of David Tooley, Maureen Willcocks, DI Hawkins and Daphne Courtney.

They bounced back to defeat Tiverton Borough 75 shots to 69, winning on two rinks.

The top winning rink was the one of Bob Mackintosh, Di Hawkins, Berry Maynard and Trevor Pipe, who enjoyed a 25-15 success.

Meanwhile, ion the men’s Over-60 League, the A team gained two points in their rearranged match against Pinces Gardens.

The points came from an 18-14 success for Malcolm Seaborne, Bill Nicholls and Mike Critchley.
