This week has been very quiet for Honiton one friendly Ladies match at home against Sidmouth resulted in a three-shot match win for Honiton, writes Tony Broughton.

The match turned out a fair tussle with Tracy Crawford’s rink losing by one shot, Anne Newman’s rink drawing and the Linda Gadd, Yvonne Williams and Brenda Harris team winning by just four shots.

Sidmouth had to reduce their side to Triples as their next round of the Yetton Trophy against South Hams had to be played on the same day.

Unfortunately their two away teams lost and although both home teams won they could not cover the loss and they are now out of the competition.

The Honiton Ladies Mason A side were also in action again this week against Torbay Country Club side of Paignton.

The home team of Jean Mitchell, Marian Vessey, Ann Hillyear and Pearl Hackwood found them particularly tough, going down by three shots.

Fortunately the away team of Berry Maynard, Dulcie Broughton, Carol Smith and Julie Grant managed a very handy six shot victory giving Honiton the match by three shots.
