The Ladies of Honiton Bowls Club celebrated Christmas with another superb triumph and are now thorough to the 5th round of the National Yetton Trophy.
In a very close match, Honiton held their nerve to defeat a strong side from Torbay (93 - 88). It was a fantastic game of bowls and a performance fully deserving of this prestigious competition.
The Top Rink at Torbay was Chris Barradell, Rita Barwick Yvonne Rayner Sue Evans (30-16) and the Top Rink at Honiton Yvonne Williams, Di Hawkins, Heather Chambers, Julie Grant (27-25). Honiton now progress play against St Andrew from Weston Super Mare.
In another close match before the festive fun, Honiton Men played the Devon Presidents, winning on three rinks and drawing on the other with a final score (78-69). It was another game full of quality and excitement, with Top Rink for Honiton T Linsdell, B Mackintosh, G Osborne, C Jacob (21-15).
