Honiton bowlers continue to enjoy some fine form, writes Ann Brown.

There was a clean sweep in friendly matches with four wins out of four!

Chardstock were beaten 92-57, Phear Park were toppled 81-64, Taunton Deane suffered a heavy 123-45 defeat and there was an equally impressive 111-46 win over Feniton.

Top rink players in the four matches included; Bob Mackintosh, Harry Riley, Barry Randall, Paul Gadd, Tony Williams, Gerry Stafrace, Bill Nicholls, Ian McKenzie, Yvonne Williams, Paul Clarke, Brenda Harris, Jimmy Smith, B. Collins and Scott Eveleigh. Well done, to all of them.

Five Honiton ladies played for Devon in the Atherley trophy, the national inter county championship, last Sunday.

Carole Binmore, Sue Evans, Julie Grant, Joan Heard and Rosemary Hirons with reserves Yvonne Rayner and Shirley Hiscocks were all present for the meeting with Dorset that produced an outstanding victory for Devon over last years England runners-up!

Devon are now into the quarter finals which will be contested in January.
