The year 2021 promises to be very special for Honiton Bowling Club, as they look forward to celebrating a century of rolling on the greens.
Founded in 1921, the club moved to its current site of Streamers Meadows in Honiton in 1930, purchasing the land for a princely sum of £160.
The first mention of bowling in Honiton came from an article in 1916 and the Pine Park Club, as it was then known, formed in 1921.
The modern club is entirely and managed by its members, solely for the benefit of members, with all profits reinvested into the club for maintenance and any improvement work.
We look forward to plenty of centenary coverage from the Honition bowlers over the course of this summer and, hopefully, the easing of restrictions will bring a fantastic season on the green.
