Honiton Cricket Club has received a massive boost ahead of the new season after announcing a new local sponsor.

The Deer Park Country House Hotel in Weston has been confirmed as the new main sponsor for the club.

The partnership will provide brand new club kit for players as well as assisting with vital ongoing financial support for Honiton’s 1st and 2nd XI Devon League teams, Sunday and mid-week friendly teams and youth cricket in the form of Under-12 and Under-14 teams as well as essential equipment.

Managing Director of the Deer Park, Mark Godfrey, commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be the main sponsor for Honiton Cricket Club. Sport in the local community is so important, and we are delighted that the money is going towards assisting the youth coaching too”.

Vice chairman at Honiton Cricket Club, Andrew Lapping said: “The association with the Deer Park brings the prospect of exciting new ventures and events throughout the year and for many years to come.”

New players of any age or ability are welcome at Honiton Cricket Club, as are umpires, scorers or non-playing members. Adult members are invited to nets sessions at Ottery Moor Lane on Wednesday evenings from 6pm.

Younger players who would like to play for the Under-12s or Under-14s are invited to free training nights on Tuesdays at 6pm.
