With last week’s fixtures for the U11s being cancelled, the Honiton Dimonds returned to All Hallows for the visit of Newton Abbot.
After such a break, the coaches expected a turkey and mince pie run-off, but how wrong we were. Firing on all cylinders from the kick-off, the boys never relaxed and played some outstanding rugby, even under the latest rules.
With the play swinging both ways throughout the game and looking fairly even, it was Dimonds who kept up the momentum in the last quarter and, with great fitness levels, dotted down three to end the game 9-6 up. Try scorers were Eric, Fin, Harry M.
Awards went to Dylan for his clubman effort across all areas, Harry M for his strong straight running, presentation of the ball and not giving up and George I for his fearless defensive performance.
Well done guys, a great team effort and well-deserved win
