Five Honiton Running Club ladies took part in the relatively new event of the Humdinger Half, writes Judy Davey.
This is a hilly half marathon around the lanes north of Taunton, Somerset. The Honiton ladies came in third as a team (Anne Carter’s time didn’t count as she hadn’t been a member when she entered the race).
Anne Carter was first home of the Honiton five, finishing in 136th place in a time of 1:59:10 with Jennie Sleeman home a few second s later, although her chip time was slightly faster in 1:59:06.
Asilah Jarrald was 157th in 2:03:08 with Rachel Hennessy, 163rd in 2:03:48 and Kathy Layzell was home in 2:24:09.
Well done, to all of the runners for getting out on a cold morning. Oliver Burrows won the race in 1:19:43 and there were 214 finishers.
