Honiton four tackle the Herstercombe Humdinger Half Marathon

Four of Honiton Running Club’s ladies took part in the Herstercombe Humdinger Half Marathon on the second Sunday of February, writes Judy Davey.

This is a challenging course run on quiet country roads through the Quantock Hills.

The base is at Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton. The race was won by Kieron Summers in a time of one hour and 18 minutes.

First back for Honiton was Jennie Sleeman, coming 112th overall and second in her category in 1:56:54.

Rachel Hennessey was next back, coming 127th in 2:01:11, followed by Pip Vanham, who came 173rd in 2:23:17.

Kathy Layzell was just four seconds later. There were 187 finishers.
