Millwey Rise 4, Honiton Harriers 2 Honiton Harriers Under-9s went down in a well-contested derby meeting.
They conceded a first minute goal that quickly led to them shipping two more as Milwey display clinical finishing.
Harriers dug deep and, after some fine defending from Harry Smith, Mason Doble led a counter-attack that ended with Liam Osborne scoring to send the teams into the break with Milwey 3-1m to the good.
In the second half Harriers looked a much different opposition. They enjoyed large periods of possession, but were caught on the break with Milwey extending their advantage to 4-1.Harriers did have the final say with Doble scoring late on.
Coach Gary Osbourne said: “I am really pleased with the team’s efforts after they conceded the three early goals. Mason (Doble) was the Man of the Match as he produced his best passing game to date.”
