Honiton hit by benign conditions as Dimond delights in stableford

It was back to the stableford format last week at Honiton and a full field played in benign conditions again, writes Andy Wagner.

How long will it last? Enjoying the day in Division One was Paul Dimond with a return to form with a par 36 points.

In second place was Alan Devenny, edging out Dave Maggs on count back.

In Division Two Julian Phillips came through with an inspiring 39 points, this after all the coaching he’s had from his boys!

Malcolm Conway (38 points) claimed second place with John Fleetwood, also on 38 points, edged into third spot after count back.

The Honiton Tuesday Mixed was played as a team stableford – two scores to count – last week, writes Andy Wagner.

Once again a large field entered and the wining team with 90 points were Sue and Paul Ritchie playing with Maureen and Laurie Tollemache.

IN second place with 89 points were Heather and Peter Clarke playing with Jenny Raison and Max Pipe - with Max having an extremely good front nine.

Third place went to Jennifer and Richard Pyle playing with Allan and Jackie Seager, they scored 88 points.
