Honiton Hornets Hockey Club are looking to recruit a new qualified hockey umpire to join their team for the 2021/22 season.

The Hornets are a long-established Ladies Hockey Club, competing in the West Clubs Women’s Hockey League practicing and playing matches at the Colin Tooze Sport Centre in Ottery St Mary on a Saturday morning.

This year, the club is struggling to provide the required two umpires for each of their home matches and without umpires, fixtures cannot go ahead, which would lead to the Hornets forfeiting points and incurring a hefty fine.

The Hornets are now appealing for a qualified hockey umpire to contact club chair Lorraine Ritchie on 07850 129049 or email lorrieritchie@hotmail.co.uk for more details.

It is a fabulous opportunity for a local hockey enthusiast to be involved in the game with a great club looking to enjoy a full season of competition.
