Works Week gave us the opportunity to play a fun competition and the format for this week was a Stableford Criss Cross, writes Andy Wagner.

The first nine holes were paired with the last nine and only the best nine scores from each half were counted.

Though the weather could have been kinder, 26 players put up with the persistent drizzle and there were some good scores.

In Silver Division, nine ladies played and Olwen Eaton took first place with 24 points, followed closely by Tricia Swindell with 23 points.

There were 10 players in the Bronze One Division with the first two places determined by count back. This led to Elizabeth Davies edging out Catherine Doherty for the top honour.

Countback was also used to separate the first two in Bronze Two Division with Monica Lacey taking top spot and Susan Hyde settling for second after both scored 21 points.
