For those ladies with the stamina, the trophy was the Jubilee Cup – one of the most prestigious as it involved a 36-hole stableford, writes Ann Desmoulins.
Those who did not fancy two rounds on the same day played a normal 18-hole stableford, although there was the High Six Trophy for those with handicaps of 31 to 36.
After all the wet weather, it was a pleasure to play on a dry course, although the greens took their revenge for some as they were very fast and very hard, which made stopping the ball extremely tricky.
The worthy winner of the Jubilee Cup was Heather Clarke with 61 points and the runner-up was Elizabeth Ward with 59 points on countback. Sarah Dawe won the High Six Trophy with 29 points.
In terms of the division results, The Silver Division was won by Vicki Rogers with 33 points, with Henrietta Bradshaw second and Olwen Eaton settling for third with countback separating the two after they both scored 30.
The Bronze One was won by Penny Blackburn with 35 points. Second was Lesley Oxenham (33) and third went to Linda Blundell (32).
The Bronze Two was won by Sarah Dawe with 29 points. Second was Sheila Palmer (24) and third was Jan Lloyd (23).
