Honiton Golf Club held their annual Captain's Charity Open meeting, writes Liz Rogers.
The event was sponsored by BMW (Westerley) and a brilliant day was enjoyed by the players who turned out in force to support The Baton Charity.
The Royal Marines erected and staffed a camp kitchen at the 11th hole fro which they served providing bacon, egg and burger rolls to players.
Alan Rowe (founder of the Charity) was one of a number of people who mingled with players sharing awareness and information on the Charity.
Honiton junior member Ben Phillips, together with Dominic Allen a junior member from Yelverton Golf Club, emerged as competition winners with an impressive 42 points.
The day got even better when Dominic, at 13-years-old, beat the rest of the field with the longest drive down the 18th hole!
A fantastic prize table was up for grabs with some great prizes donated by the sponsors. These included tickets to the 2016 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and the use of a BMW motor vehicle to and from the event. You guessed it - won by young Dominic for the longest drive! (He will not be driving of course).
