HONITON'S ladies are halfway through their Foxlands League programme and doing well in Division One. Their latest match v Kingsley (Westward Ho) resulted in a resounding victory and all 10 points, with the away rinks sounding rather amazed when reporting their score. Ann Hillyear's four had played themselves into a 36-13 win! Result: Honiton 107, Kingsley 72. Home: M Pipe, D Broughton, B Harris, J Heard 22-17; P Milner, C Nex, S Hiscocks P Hackwood 26-24. Away: A Brown, B Maynard, R Barwick, C Fisher 23-18; R Hirons, J Mitchell, J Grant, A Hillyear 36-13.Men's Over 60s County Trophy teams had mixed fortunes in the two recent games against Mid-Devon. Honiton, languishing at the base of the table, rose from the ashes to easily defeat second-placed Mid-Devon by a considerable shot difference. Result: Honiton 93, Mid-Devon 55. Home: K Clark, T Broughton, P Crockett, R Milner 26-20; B Long, M Critchley, P Baker, M Sellick 19-10. Away: G Westbrook, K Parsons, E Sharman, G Selvey 27-7; F Cowey, D Hillyear, C Maynard, M Dart 21-18. Against Dawlish, it was a different story with one rink unable to keep out the back end of their opponents, especially a forceful skip. Result: Honiton 64, Dawlish 83. Home: G Westbrook, K Parsons, E Sharman, G Selvey 20-16; F Cowey, D Hillyear, M Dart, D Russell 7-29. Away: A Evans, G Hoare, P Crockett, R Milner, 14-21; P Baker, B Long, M Critchley, M Sellick 23-17.The National Top Club against Exonia was a complete non-contest as far as Honiton were concerned as Exonia have such strong talent to call on. Even without 'star' Ian Bond, playing this week in the Welsh Open, they have an enviably fine line up. The match was conceded early when both singles were lost and there was no possibility of Honiton winning the other thee "disciplines". Away: 4 wood single: G Mettam lost to R Paxton 3-21; Triple: F Cowey, G Selvey, M Sellick 8-8 at 12 ends; Home: 2-wood single: T Pipe lost to S Broom 5-21; Pair R. Binmore, K. Lovering lost to M Dyer and S Stevens 4-23; Four: P Baker, M Critchley, W Heard, D Viles lost 6-32 to K Phillips and Co.Hannah Morfey, Gemma Newham, Hollie Holman, Liam Flack, Aaron Chalk and Ashley Sampson all played in the Devon Under 21 county match on Saturday.
