There was more success for the Honiton ladies in the County Foxlands Trophy when they played Torbay, writes Ann Brown.

This time they secured eight out of the 10 points available after a very hard fought game. The top rink was Phyllis Milner, Dulcie Broughton, Joan Heard and Sue Evans 22-15.

Friendly matches gave a 62-46 win against Sidmouth in which Honiton won on all three rinks and against the Nomads a 84-55 win with top rink Phyllis Milner, Thelma Flynn, Paul Clarke and Ken Clarke 25-9. The Nomads are composed of players from a variety of clubs in the area and apart from enjoying their bowling, they raise a lot of money for charity.

The men entertained a team representing the Devon Vice Presidents who proved marginally too strong overall, but Honiton won on two of the four rinks with a top rink of Bob Mackintosh, Alan Fuller, Bernard Tonkin and Ken Clarke 21-11.
