Honiton ladies played a Flag competition where each competitor added her handicap allowance to par for the course (73) and this became the number of shots she was allowed to play, writes John Pawley.
Each competitor left her flag in the spot where her shots ran out, with the winner being the one farthest down the course.
Poor weather meant that some ladies declined playing, and those who did got thoroughly soaked, but of those who did complete the course Silver division was won by Ann Trayling who put her flag out on the first (extra hole).
Ladies captain Janet Hughes and Henrietta Bradshaw were next – both finishing on the 18th.
Bronze One was won by Sharon Rouse with Gill Johnson next. The Bronze Two winner was Cathy Pawley with Susan Hyde second.
