With the Honiton course drying out at last, all greens were in play for the scheduled ladies’ April Stableford, which ran as a qualifier, writes Ann Desmoulins.

It was a pleasure to walk on dry fairways at last. The greens proved surprisingly fast, testing people’s putting skills.

Many found 18 holes quite tiring, given that they had been unable to play many full rounds for so long over the winter months. It just goes to prove how fit golf keeps you if you play regularly!

In Silver Division, the winner was Sue Ritchie with 34 points. Countback was required for the minor places and it resulted in Heather Clarke edging Janet Hughes into third after both players recorded scores of 33 points.

The Bronze One division was mighty close with the top three places needing countback! It resulted in Ann Desmoulins taking first place with 35 points, edging Joan Smith and Linda Blundell into second and third places respectively after they also recorded scores of 35 points.

Bronze Division Two was a clear win for Linda Curtis with 32 points and, after countback was called into play, second went to Cathy Pawley and third to Danusa White with the pair both recording scores of 25 points.
