Honiton ladies played a foursomes competition that provided a difficult format with partners playing alternate shots.

This does not allow either player to get into their normal rhythm so a good relationship is essential!

However, the weather was the main winner with gale force winds and heavy squally showers taking their toll on the early starters.

Of the 12 groups that played, only seven completed their rounds, these all being later in the morning when the rain had eased. The prize winners all came from the last two groups to go out, with the rather low scores being entirely attributable to the weather conditions. The winners were Olwen Eaton and Diana Gee with 26 points on countback, edging Linda Blundell and Jan Portlock into second place after they also scored 26.

Third were Catherine Doherty and Sharon Dacre with 25 points and they claimed third spot after countback in what was a close contest all-round!
