There have been mixed fortunes at the start of a new year for the ladies of Honiton bowling club, writes Julie Grant.
The County Lane triples game was lost by only one shot to ISCA, 69-68.
The best winning rinks were, at home, Gloria Randall, Jean Mitchell and Pearl Hackwood 17-12, and away were Carol Armitage, Judith Broom and Gail Hawke 21-16. This meant that Honiton scored four points.
In an away friendly against Sidmouth, Honiton ladies lost 64-45. The best rink was the one of Carol Armitage, Val Kille, Maureen Parsons and Marian Vessey, 19-22.
However, a mixed friendly at Budleigh saw Honiton win 51-30 with the top rink, comprising of Carol Armitage, Joan Mackintosh, Ron Rogers and Tilly Tillier, winning 26-12.
