The past week was another busy one for the Honiton lady bowlers, writes Joan Mackintosh.

There was a splendid result in the County Lane trophy meeting with Budleigh Salterton with the ladies winning on all rinks both at home and away, taking the match honours to the tune of a 76-43 score line and so banked all 10 available points.

The top Honiton rink was the one of L Carless, J Mackintosh and M Bright, who won 23-6.

There was further success in a County Foxlands meeting with Sidmouth that Honiton won 79-75, banking six points to the four gained by Sidmouth.

In this fixture the top Honiton rink, winning 31-7, was the one of Y Williams, M Bright and J Sherwood.

The good news continued for Honiton with a 107-66 win in a national Yetton Trophy meeting with Plymouth. In this match the top Honiton rink was the one of Y Williams, R Barwick, J Sherwood and S Evans, who won 35-8.

The win over Plymouth, in what is a knock-out competition, now means that Honiton face a December 6, meeting with either Taunton or St Andrews.

There was just the one mixed friendly played last week and that was a meeting with Ottery St Mary that went the way of the otters, 77-70. The top Honiton rink was the one C Stafrace, T Cox, A Hillyear, S Howells, who won 24-15.
