Honiton lady captain celebrates first six months in style

Honiton lady captain Pam Greenway celebrated her first six months in office in great style on Wednesday and provided a colourful prize table for the winners of the stableford competition, writes Andy Wagner.

There were some good scores and glorious sunshine completed a very enjoyable day.

The overall winner of the lady captain’s prize was Catherine Doherty with 40 points. In the silver division the winner was Elizabeth Ward with 39 points with Henrietta Bradshaw the runner-up with 36 points and Mona Carter finished third with 35 points.

Bronze division one was won by Brenda Hyde with 39 points. Penny Blackburn was second with 35 points after count back, edging Jan Dickinson into third spot.

The bronze division two winner was Sue Long with 36 points, again after count back was called into play with Jennifer Pyle second and Linda McLaughlin claimed third with 35 points. The prizes for nearest the pin on the second hole was won by Sue Long, and nearest the pin on the 12th hole for silver division was Heather Clarke.
