Honiton ladies last weekend concluded the qualifiers season with the annual lady captain’s team against the lady vice captain’s team, write Linda Knapman.

The sides were picked, colours were chosen and all eyes were on the trophy as the four ball, better ball, competition got under way.

The weather was cold and overcast, but thankfully dry, and the result was a convincing win for this year’s lady captain, Elizabeth Davies.

Vice captain Olwen Eaton was very cheerful and gracious in defeat, though lay down her challenge to keep her faithful teams for next year when she intends to bring in the winning score.
