Honiton lady captain’s prize win for Elizabeth Wood

The lady captain’s prize for the best Stableford score in the qualifier played on Wednesday was won by Elizabeth Wood with an impressive 36 pts – winning Bronze 1, writes John Pawley.

A tricky wind with fast greens ensured challenging conditions for all. Silver division winner was Lady Captain Jane Watts with 34 pts with Anne Davies next on 33 on count-back from Janet Hughes and Olwen Eaton in that order. Dot Grove came second in Bronze 1 on 34 pts beating Sue Kelson on count-back, with Sharon Rouse next, on 32 pts. Bronze 2 winner was Linda McLaughlin with 34 pts.

The 9-hole Stableford winner was Sue Calver with 14 pts with Maureen Tollemache (13) next.
