Division One: Wasps 46, Uplowman 24; Keeley’s Angels 41, Visions 26.

Just one game, to be completed next week, will end the league fixtures for the season. Both Keeley’s Angels and Wasps were in action – the Angels needing a win over Visions to ensure they retained the title, whilst Wasps also needed to beat Uplowman and hope that Angels lost to Visions without even the solace of a point!

With Lisa Cull in fine form, Wasps dominated play against Uplowman from the start to lead 28-16 at half way.

Going into the final period it looked as though Viv Grant was leading Uplowman to a point with the score at 38-22 to Wasps, but the final quarter was all Wasps as they powered to a 46 -24 win, with Uplowman gaining that point by a single goal!

Angels knew they needed at least a point to be sure of retaining the title when they met Visions.

With Helen Wright in great defensive form for Angels, it was Visions who were finding the going tough, despite good work from Rachel Clement. Keeley’s led 10-4 at quarter time before extending their lead to 22-12 at half way. They were always in command and their grip on the title was not threatened as they recorded a title-clinching 41-26 win.

Division Two: Howden’s Hawks 42, Sidmouth Toucans 22; NAS 22, CMC Birds 16.

In division two, the title has already gone to Hi Q who still have a game to play, with 3Ts in second place, so when Howden Hawks met Sidmouth Toucans, they were playing for a degree of pride, with Hawks wanting to consolidate their third place. When the sides met in November 2010, the points had gone to the Toucans, so Hawks were also playing to even up the score.

With Lindsey Turner in splendid form, the Hawks proved too strong for the Sidmouth side and recorded a fine 42-22 win despite good play from Kristy Platt for Toucans.

By half way Hawks were 10 goals to the good before continuing to extend their lead, with the Toucans hanging on to gain a valuable point.

NAS have had a mixed season, whilst their opponents, CMC Birds, have had their best season ever with three wins under their belt. It was a close encounter with NAS finally edging home winners by 22-16 to move within three points of fourth place, whilst the CMC point still left at the foot of the table on goal difference.
