The Honiton mixed section were in action once again last week, writes Liz Rogers.

Before starting - playing partners had to decide who will take the second shots on the even or odd numbered stroke indices having both driven - hence the format of Rye Foursomes.

Twenty-six members enjoyed the fine weather (is this summer at last!) with the course looking good.

This week the winning pair were Maureen Tollemache and Stan Squire with 43 points - this score helped by Maureen chipping in on the 11th for birdie and Stan’s excellent putting.

In second place with 37 points were Sue and Paul Ritchie. Third place was taken by Lesley Farley and Bill Eaton with 34 points.

Maureen and Laurie Tollemache are this month’s organisers and, after the usual ball draw, lady captain Olwen Eaton presented the prizes followed by Stan giving a vote of thanks.
