The Winter Honiton Netball League resumed after a brief summer break and after an AGM celebrating the previous year’s achievements, writes Graham Ingram

The 2013-14 winter champions had been OPG, now playing as the ‘Otters’ with Flamingos as the runners-up.

Tip Top Trees and JD Tyres promoted from Division Two to the top flight. The summer season was played in its now usual ‘handicap’ league format and saw Uplowman crowned as champions after an undefeated season.

Signs South West were the runners up.

Each year there is a fair play award that is determined by weekly scores by umpires, with the Fair Play trophy this year being won by Sidmouth Toucans.

There are also awards for players of the season and this year saw the awards go to Caroline Biggs (Toucans) and Carole Goddard (OPG]), in Division One and to Helen Freemantle (JD Tyres) in Division Two.

Jenny Robinson (Tip Top Trees) and Nicky Snell (Blackdown Ladies) shared the award for the summer with Nicky also picking up the umpire award.
