Honiton Over-60s B team in impressive form

The Honiton men’s Over-60s B team proved strong opponents in their last two matches, writes Joan Mackintosh.
They played Seaton B at home and won both triples collecting the full eight points.
In their other match against Sidmouth B which was played away at Sidmouth they again won both triples gaining another eight points.
The Honiton men’s Over-60s A team played top of the table Topsham A.
This match played at Topsham resulted in a win for Topsham 39 to Honiton’s 28 which gave Topsham the eight points.
Honiton men’s Over-60s C team played Marine C, and, after a close match lost 39-32. The top Honiton rink was the one of C Morfey, M Richards, G Kille (22-16).
In the men’s County Trophy match against Feniton, two rinks played at home in Honiton and two rinks played away at Feniton.
Honiton won at Feniton by 12 shots but lost at home by 20 shots.
The overall score was Honiton 34, Feniton 42. As this match is played on knockout basis Honiton goes out.
Honiton Men played in the Foxlands competition against Feniton
The rink played at Feniton won by 12 shots, but lost at home by 20 shots, the overall score being Honiton 34, Feniton 42.
As this competition is played on a knockout basis, Honiton’s Foxlands campaign this season is over.
Honiton ladies had an Over-50s match away at Crediton Green. It proved to be a close contest, ending with Honiton being beaten by a margin of just two shots at 30-28. The top rink for Honiton was the one of V Kille, D Courtney and J Sherwood, who won 16-14. Honiton take two points for their efforts and Crediton take four.
Honiton played a mixed friendly match at home against Wellington and won the match 82-48 with the top rink being the one of P Robinson, D Hawkins, D Hillyear, winning 26-10.
In the mixed friendly match played at home against Torquay Victoria, Honiton won 72 shots to 67 with the top rink being the one of R Richards, D Roberts, L Howell, G Stafrace, who won 20-14.
