Last Sunday, three Honiton Running Club members joined the other 40,000 runners to take part in what proved to be the hottest London Marathon ever.

Jo Davey was making her marathon debut and finished in a great time of three hours and 51 minutes.

She had won the club’s draw, giving her entry with the club’s England Athletics place.

She thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and has been raising money for Exeter Leukaemia Fund.

Esme Moffett ran London two years ago and has since had a baby. She struggled with injury and did well to finish in 3:53. Howard Bidmead had been given his place as a Christmas present and the plan was to run with his daughter-in-law.

Unfortunately, she had to pull out so Howard was on his own. With a holiday to Australia getting in the way of training, he did well to finish under five hours in 4:53.
