This race was HRC's Alasdair Moffett's brain child and he put the race together joining many of his favourite local trail runs.

The full distance was 100k, but runners were given the option of completing 50k as a relay team with a partner or, in fact, doing any distance participants wished.

Nearly 50 took part with most tackling the full 62 miles.

The base was at Offwell and it seemed that runners visited most of the villages in East Devon either sooner or later. Adam was the third person to cross the line in a time of 13 hours and nine minutes, having tackled this distance for the first time.

The weather was as perfect as you could get and all arrangements went well with runners carrying a tracker usually used to locate boats so those back at base knew exactly where the runners were at all times; a very useful tool for a race of this distance. Feedback from runners was great thanking Alasdair for excellent organisation and also to Alasdair's friends who he had roped in to help in many different ways.

Many of the runners camped on Offwell Playing Fields making a weekend of it and found themselves very well fed with a variety of different foods provided.

On the final Sunday of April saw HRCs Harry Entwistle travel with his Dad to take part in the Chardstock race for children. Harry had an incredible race coming seventh overall in a time of 16:18, to be awarded the 'stand out performer of the race'. The race was won by Ben Price in 11:44.

The first Sunday in May saw Honiton RCs Stephen Boyes visit Newport, Wales to take part in the Newport Marathon. Stephen was delighted to finish in a time of 3:41, which should be a good enough time to give him a guaranteed good for age time for next year's London Marathon.
