Honiton runner Stewart does well at Haytor Heller meeting

A warm muggy evening on Dartmoor saw 250 runners taking part in the 30th Haytor Heller. This is an extremely tough six-mile event which starts halfway up Haytor which runne, writes Judy Davey.

In this meeting runners have to ascend before setting off across the moor where they climb Hound Tor at the half way point before returning to Haytor which they climb once more before a fast descent to the finish below.

Ian Stewart had a great race for Honiton finishing in 46:30, finishing 13th overall. Howard Bidmead was next having had a good run in 58:25 to come home 93rd.

Louise Crisp completed the Honiton team and finished strongly in 61 minutes, crossing the line 116th.

The race was won by Aaron Tocknell from Torbay in a time of 41.09.
