Honiton’s Captain’s Day is a special one

The 2013 Captain’s Day meeting at Honiton was blessed with superb weather, writes Andy Wagner.

It was truly a lovely day to play golf, especially as it was a ‘free round ‘on captain Dave Morgan!

Besides a well stocked prize table the captain gave all the entrants a souvenir golf ball (which will no doubt keep surfacing in the more densely wooded areas of the course).

There was a happy atmosphere and some very good scoring with Andy Ford’s nett 65 heading division one ahead of Alan Pollock with 66 and Dan Noar on 67.

However, it was Pete Davis in division two who took the Calabah Mug with a nett 62 ahead of Andy Wall with his 65 and John Bevan who scored 67.

It was a showcase day for a much loved and appreciated captain. Thank you, Dave. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and that your charity’s coffers, Cystic Fibrosis, swelled appropriately.
