Jean Putt has been a member of Honiton Golf Club for more years that she would care to count, but decided to play her last game on her 90’th birthday last Wednesday, writes Andy Wagner.
It was a great celebration for a great lady, but don’t think that she will be sitting at home watching television.
Oh no! She has decided to concentrate on perfecting her bowls game for the next 10 years or so! There’s no stopping Jean, and, in the 18-hole foursomes it was hard to catch Hilda Hoepelman and Jenny Raison who scored 35 stableford points which saw them take first place.
Second were Chris Luttman and Brenda Hyde with 33 points followed by Henrietta Bradshaw and Penny Blackburn in third with 31 points.
The 9-hole stableford this week was won by Catherine Hunt with 16 points, with Babs Knight in second place with 13 points.
