Honiton Sea Angling Club celebrate a superb year

Honiton Sea Angling Club held their annual presentation event whole also enjoying a carvery at the Hare and Hounds, writes Mike Spiller.

The Sea Angling Club is now in its 25th year and celebrated the landmark with its best 12 months to date, enjoying a record membership of 90!

What’s more, during the year club members caught and registered an impressive 138 specimen fish with the Angling Trust, anglings governing body.

It was also a good year for the club’s junior members with two of them, Jack Squance and Archie Sweetland landing a good mix of fish.

Jack had a nice flounder of 2lb 8oz for his best and Archie had a nice undulate ray of 12lb.

The 2018 competitions are well underway with monthly shore and boat events for juniors and seniors.

The junior section will start next month with a competition at Lyme Regis. Casting tuition for club members gets underway later in April.
