Seventy-three Honiton seniors battled cold conditions and a mixture of proper and temporary greens to contest a three-ball better ball stableford with two scores to count.
Despite the three quarters handicap allowance, scores were good, although those going off early were claiming that scoring was easier for the late starters!
The winners with an excellent 80 points were Peter Clarke, Pete Blake and Bob Cleal.
Second were Len Still, Dave Maggs and Andy Dawe with 72 points and third were Vic Wood, John Fleetwood and George Blake with 70 points. Fourth were Barry Rogers and Rod Armitage, very creditable for a two ball.
There were five twos, winning nine balls each. They were Phil Faulkner and Peter Clarke on the second, Stan Squire on the 10th and Bob Bilyard and Jack Phillips on the 12th.
