Despite the impending heavy rain and strong winds, 61 Honiton seniors’ competed in the second round of the eclectic and stayed dry apart from a couple of small showers, writes Ann Desmoulins
The winner, in Division One was club president Max Pipe with a very creditable 39 points, winning on countback from Phil Deacon, who also carded a very creditable 39 points.
In third place was Rob Stickland with 38 points and fourth was Jim Wallis with 37.
The winner in Division Two was George Blake with 35 points, winning on countback from seniors captain John Pawley, also with 35 points. Third place went to Eric Short with 33 and fourth was Keith Major with the best of the 32 point scores.
There were three twos, Len Still on the second, Rob Stickland on the tenth and Mike Stroud, whose tee shot landed in a bunker on the eighth from which he chipped into the hole for the two and a gross eagle. Well done, Mike.
