Tuesday also saw the return leg of the seniors match against Exeter – with the added importance of trying to retain the Stan Parker Trophy for another year, writes John Pawley.
Stan was a member of both clubs, and, in 1976, put up the trophy for the overall winning team.
Up against it from the start, following the four-and-a-half to one-and-a-half loss earlier in the year, and despite some withdrawals, the Honiton team won this leg by four games to two.
However, with the home and away legs combined, Honiton were edged out six-and-a-half to five-and-a-half, and so the cup is handed back to Exeter until it is contested again in 2018.
