There was a good turnout of 71 seniors to contest a stableford event on a sunny but breezy day, spoiled only by sharp showers towards the end of the round, writes Andy Wagner.

For some it was the first competition of the year, but some good scores were made, particularly in Division Two.

This was won by Howard Pritchard with 41 points. John Pawley was runner-up on 40, but both of them paid for their success with a handicap cut.

Tony Proudfoot and Bob Underwood both had 37 and Bill Giles took the last prize. Division One was won by Norrie Fleet with 38 points (handicap cut) winning on countback from Vic Wood. The other prize winners, all on 37 points were Max Pipe, Chris Street and Keith Lloyd. The winners of both divisions also had their Winter handicaps cut by an extra shot.
