The Honiton seniors’ run of good match results ended early last week with a 5-1 reversal at Torquay, writes John Pawley.
By Friday conditions were extremely testing for the monthly medal. Withdrawals, before and during the day, meant that less than 40 completed cards were handed in. Scores above 70 were the order and there were only three twos, scored by Steve Blundell, Jim Wallis and David Scott - acquiring eight balls each for their efforts.
The winner of Division Two was Mike Delaney with his 71, followed by John Pawley (73) then Tom Tunnicliffe and Peter Blake, both with 74.
The Division One top honour, and September Medal, was won by Phil Deacon with 71. The minor places went to; Steve Butcher (74), Mike Ward (75) and John Fleetwood (76).
