Honiton students win places at National Schools Gymnastics Championships

Four students representing Honiton Community College claimed gold when they competed in the South West Schools Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships held on the second Saturday of March.

The pairings of Erin Blackmore and Aimee Deam, and Megan Jones and Hollie Moulton travelled to Gryphon Leisure Centre in Sherborne and claimed top spot in their respective categories to earn a place in the National Schools Championships, which are being held in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday, May 5.

Aimee and Erin were competing in the Under-14 category and wowed the judges to score 8.70. Not to be outdone, Hollie and Megan scored 8.60 to come out on top in the Girls’ Under-19 section.
