Honiton Stingrays took part in the Exeter Gala, November meet at the Exeter Pyramids pool.

A team of ten travelled to compete against strong opposition Exeter, Tiverton and Dawlish, and returned some excellent results.

The recent attention to detail in training and commitment has really paid off and swimmers surprised themselves by improving their PB’s by a large margin.

Coach Ralph Watson was impressed by the way the swimmers had taken into account all the advice in training and applied it to their races.

He said: “The swimmers were once again brilliant. Altogether, out of the 41 races the swimmers entered, they received 25 medals and 26 PBs. A great return!”

The swimmers who won medals were: Tabitha Vaughan who landed three gold, four silver and a brace of bronze, Lucy Kingdon who won a gold and a bronze and two silver, Lily Pearson who claimed a pair of silver and a bronze, Isabel Lynch who bagged a silver, Janet Bargmann who claimed two bronze and two silver, Oliver Vercoe, who won a pair of silver and one bronze and Dan Clarke who picked up a silver.
