Honiton Titans Under-10s continued their solid start to the season with a pair of victories against a well drilled and aggressive South Molton side at Northcote Lane on Sunday.

After the visitors took the lead within the first five minutes of the opening game, Honiton switched on and notched it up a gear, bouncing back with an equalising try within minutes and further intensified the pressure to win comfortably at 25-10 in the first game and 20-5 in the second.

Archie Hawkins led the team as captain and produced some good charges throughout the games. Johnny Glover ran in three tries over the course of the two games, but it was his relentless defensive performance which saw him crowned the Man of the Match.

Isaac Lindster and Tom Elliott both put in consistent and impressive displays which earned them a hat-trick of tries apiece. Gracie Billing was lighting quick, earning positive comments from opposition coaches, and she was unlucky not get on the score sheet following an unfortunate knock on over the try line. Zac Lancaster happily stepped in at scrum half, a position he’s never played before and gave his all. Ollie Olliff came off the bench in the first half to put in a terrific display of skill, powerful running, solid tackles and great support work. Finley Burston, Alex Barback and Joe Gray put in an inspiring amount of effort producing some outstanding support and defensive play with break away runs coming from all three. Harry Smith, with only a few games under his belt, held his own with ease, completely unflustered by being thrown into a game with such aggressive opposition.
